Jan 09 New Treatments Available in 2009 Deep Tissue Massage - Available end Feb 2009 Deep Tissue is a specific massage; more than just a relaxing massage, adapting techniques to work below superficial tissue of the skin, with the aim to release old structural patterns and allow the free flow of nutrients and oxygen in the blood and to the muscle tissues themselves. Deep Tissue Massage helps to free trapped nerves, oxygenate poorly circulated areas and allows the spine and joints to relax into alignment. This treatment is particulary useful for those who excersise regularly and find that they need more relief from muscle tenderness and a lack of flexability. This treatment is widely used by Physical Therapists and Oestopaths. This treatment is, as the name suggests, a deeper pressured massage and therefore may cause some discomfort but the therapist will always work within the clients comfort zone and should never cause pain. Areas focused on are the back and shoulder where pain in these ares are the most common.
Soft Tissue Release is a combination of movement and manipulation by locking in to the relevant tissues, whilst simultaneously stretching and aligning muscle fibres – this is often a missing link in the treatment of tightness and restriction of muscles. This technique will be used alongside Deep Tissue Massage for greater acheivement of muscle tension releif and will be used should clients feel too much discomfort.
